Photo Shoot – Bluebell Wood

Hello from Singularis Photography. We are lucky to live in a beautiful part of the country with plenty of woods and parks. It’s Spring so you can’t help but notice that the Bluebell’s are out, so what better excuse do you need to get out and take pictures. At least that’s what Michelle and I thought as we drove around Kent and Sussex. Apparently this year they would only flower from the last week in April to the start of May, so we had to be quick. We needed a model for the shoot. We could have advertised for a photogenic subject and spent hours looking at profiles. But how lucky were we that Michelle’s young neighbour was willing to help us. Step forward Mirte accompanied by her mum, Inge who came out with myself, Michelle and my partner Dee to a secluded wood near Crowborough in Kent. Mirte proved to be a natural with the amount of effort and hard work she put into the shoot. The woods were lovely and the bluebells were absolutely stunning. This wonderful setting released everyone’s creative juices with lots of interesting idea’s and suggestions to capture the magical atmosphere of this special place. Once again a special thanks to Dee for her creativity and direction, as well as her ability to lug heavy camera bags around. I have enclosed some of my favourite pictures and I know that everyone really liked them, so what a great end to a fun shoot.        ...

The staff at Wickham Court have decided to open up the venue for weddings and required some photographs to show the building at it’s best. Michelle is a highly skilled photographer in her own right, as well as being one of the preferred photographers at this venue. I was invited along to help with the shoot and also get some pictures for my own portfolio. Styled shoots are really useful for both the venue and photographers. It gives us an opportunity to try out some of our own idea’s and look to find some interesting lighting and stimulating surroundings. In addition in this shoot we had two professional models, Buster Tindale and Anna Wrang as well as the Hair Fairy, AKA Lisa Mullins our resident hair stylist working her magic  www.hair-fairy.com     We were really fortunate with the weather, (apart from the wind) and I think that the shoot went well. Lisa actually said that “It was more like a comedy show than a shoot”. I think that means we had quite a laugh rather than a comment on our techniques. Anyway, I have attached  some of my pictures and in this case I tried a few different Lightroom processing techniques with some of the stair shots. I wanted to see whether I could get a different look and although I am biased I think it...
